Shawarma Press, the first original shawarma franchise in the U.S., has reportedly expanded its business in Texas by inaugurating a location at Walmart in Plano.
Situated at 6001 N. Central Expressway close to the campus of UTD (the University of Texas at Dallas), the Mediterranean casual restaurant is the third location that is currently operating in Walmart stores, joining more locations in Arlington and San Antonio.
With the new location closer to UTD, students, faculty members as well as businesses and residents in the area are benefitted from extensive menu items for catering, dinner, lunch, and breakfast.
Dr. Ehap Sabri, Ph.D., the Co-Founder of Shawarma Press, and a supplementary professor at the university’s School of Business asserted that more restaurants would open in Texas inside Walmart this year. This includes a forthcoming location in Austin’s Georgetown followed by Temple, Lufkin, and Wichita Falls.
Sabri also expressed that the franchise plans to open over 100 locations throughout the country over the next five years to offer authentic and healthy Mediterranean cuisine to people.
Sawsan Abublan, the Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Shawarma Press cited that some consumers prefer traditional chicken or beef shawarma whereas others prefer its fusion dishes like the Tex-Mex Press™ and Tandoori Press™.
Abublan added that the franchise serves 100% natural chicken and top-quality beef raised with no steroids, hormones, or antibiotics and uses high-quality ingredients while preparing, and follows all the Halal guidelines.
Apart from the popular shawarma wraps, the menu consists of various appetizers like cheese and spinach pastries, grape leaf rolls, falafel bites, French fries, along with homemade hummus, a customer favourite. Bowls, soups, fresh salads, and desserts like ice cream and premium baklava are also served along with vegan alternatives and an interactive, handy nutrition calculator for people having allergies or consuming a special diet.
