Subway’s new vegan sub will be available in stores along with a vegan salad with a starting price of £3.80.

Subway has reportedly made plans to make the most of the vegan trend after Greggs vegan sausage roll turned out to be a huge hit among flexitarians as well as meat eaters.

As per trusted sources, Subway’s new vegan sub will be available in stores along with a vegan salad with a starting price of £3.80. The new additions will be accompanied with vegan garlic aioli since the sandwich chain hopes its new menu items please the taste palette of both vegans and non-vegans.

The new vegan subs are not the only vegan items in the Subway menu, as it has already introduced Veggie Delite and hash browns which are suitable for vegans. Moreover, the food chain’s hearty Italian and Italian breads as well as several sauces including sweet onion, bbq, marinara, yellow mustard, hot chili, HP brown, and sweet chili are also vegan, cited credible sources.

According to a news report by the Independent, Subway’s new vegan sub contains a patty made with ingredients such as chili, red pepper, garlic, and red onion. Customers can decide whether they want to consume the patty as a sandwich stuffed in the bread of their choice or add it to a salad. With regards to nutrition, the vegan sub comprises 371 calories per serving, and when consumed with salad it accounts for 204 calories.

Reportedly, the addition of extra permanent vegan items to the Subway menu arrives at a time when other food chains are also increasing their vegan options. According to recent reports, the British retailer Tesco will soon be introducing meat-free sausage rolls.

Additionally, the UK’s largest bakery chain Greggs also launched a vegan sausage roll earlier this year, which was available at a limited number of stores before being sold countrywide, reported sources.
