Good Energy partners Powerstar & BELECTRIC for C&I battery storage

Renewable energy company Good Energy has reportedly joined forces with producer Powerstar and engineering technology firm BELECTRIC to amplify its commercial & industrial energy storage portfolio in the UK.

As per a press release by BELECTRIC, Amit Oza the MD of BELECTRIC UK stated that battery storage techs are the link amid contemporary grids and intermittent electricity production from renewables. Oza further mentioned that the company expects that these systems would extend substantial value to business customers, particularly in consort with Good Energy’s power distribution contracts.

BELECTRIC is rather proud about the flexibility considering the software and technology solutions that the company can provide to the collaborated entity, Oza said. Moreover, BELECTRIC always makes battery storage systems as per the project’s application and usage requirements, while it looks forward to extending this expertise to the project portfolio of Good Energy, Oza noted.

Good Energy selected these two companies through a competitive tender and acquisition process, and they would aid the company in designing, installing, operating and maintaining industrial and commercial battery storage projects in the firm’s pipeline, cite trusted sources.

Good Energy has been pursuing a move into the commercial and industrial storage vertical for quite some time now, raising over £10 Mn (USD 12.81 Mn) in the mid of 2017 to foray into the electric vehicle and storage sectors as part of a broader pivot towards energy solutions, reported sources familiar with the partnership.

If reports are to be believed, Good Energy obtained its first energy storage project in late 2017, disclosing plans to deploy a 250kW project on behalf of Eden Project, company’s pivotal commercial & industrial customer.

Good Energy stated that the collaborations with Innogy-owned BELECTRIC & Powerstar would prepare the company for upcoming projects and would stabilize a key fragment of the framework for their delivery.
