Ardian to fully acquire Italian beverage dispenser-maker Celli

Ardian is expected to be an ideal partner to the company and help it become an industry-leader in the beverage sector.

Ardian, a leading private investment house based in France, has reportedly entered into a binding agreement to acquire 100% of Celli S.p.A, the eminent Italian beverage solutions company from its current owner Consilium, a Swedish asset management company, and the Celli family. Reportedly, the senior management is expected to reinvest together with Ardian.

Celli, established in 1974, specializes in the designing, manufacturing, trialing and installation of advanced beverage dispensing solutions for top breweries including Carlsberg, Molson Coors, Heineken, Budweiser and Asahi, and several soft drinks companies such as Pepsi and Coca-Cola. In addition, the Group is involved in the manufacture of sustainable water dispensing solutions and has recently introduced an internally-developed IT (Information Technology) platform that coordinates the management of the dispensers installed. The ground-breaking initiative in the sector aims to incorporate IoT (Internet of Things) technology into the beverage dispensing sector.

As per a report by AltAssets, Ardian holds assets worth over $90 million, under management throughout its operations in Asia, Europe and the USA. Recently, the private equity major raised €6billion in funds for its latest European infrastructure and also sold an 18% stake in Spie Batignolles, an infrastructure & services group.

Reliable sources claimed that Ardian’s investment is likely to speed up Celli’s growth and further strengthen the Group’s international reach, that helps it export its products to over 100 countries. Sources added that the Group has expanded organically as well as through the acquisition of some major companies within the beverage sector and its extensive network of exclusive distributors and technical assistance units offer services on an international level.

According to Mauro Gallavotti, CEO & Chairman, Celli Group, Celli’s Italian expertise is globally recognized and association with Consilium has brought a manager-led approach to the company and helped it reach the €100 million revenue threshold. He added that Ardian is an ideal partner to the company and helps it become an industry-leader in the beverage sector.
